Ray and Midnight's Story

Ray and Midnight Ray and Midnight
Hello! I have 2 FIV+ boys with stomatitis. First is Ray. He has had a FME in April, substantial laser therapy, previous feeding tube, and is currently on .15 prednisolone every other day. We tried going down to .1 every 3 days, but that caused more inflammation and redness to appear. He will get bloodwork done when we go back in 3 weeks. Our vet said he may be on lifelong steroids. Next is Midnight. He has had regular dentals and cleanings, and at our last one they said he had gingivitis which might turn to stomatitis. The past 3 days, I have noticed him doing exactly what Ray did before diagnosis: trying to eat/eating a small amount and then running away from the food in pain. I have been unable to get him an appt due to the holiday weekend, but plan to call our vet in the morning. My rescue helped pay for all of Ray’s treatment, and I just don’t know if I can afford a FME all on my own for another cat. My current January 20 pics aren’t the greatest but Midnight’s redness has gone down so much! There is still some on his upper gums but his mouth smells better and doesnt have any more white gunk. We started Mutoral on January 13, and in such a short time, he’s eating again and his mouth is doing better.
